FFPE tissue (formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue) is available from normal and diseased organs for utilization in your research laboratory for various analyses.

Formalin Fixed Paraffin Embedded (FFPE) tissue samples are very valuable for pathological research.

FFPE human tissue is fixed and preserved by being treated in formaldehyde, which results in a variety of cross-linking effects to amino acids and prepares the sample for immunohistochemistry. The sample is then embedded in IHC-grade paraffin wax, which is the optimal casing to allow fine sectioning, dying, etc.

While DNA isolation from FFPE tissues is difficult, FFPE is still an invaluable resource. There are an estimated one billion FFPE tissue samples archived over the world, and with current and emerging technologies there are many secrets to uncover, such as specific genetic changes that lead to rare cancers or why or why not certain people respond to chemotherapy.

Our FFPE tissues are procured from a wide array of anatomical sites and are expertly pathologically verified, including cancer, metabolic disorders, inflammation, nervous system, neurodegenerative disorders, cardiovascular, blood disorders, and non-diseased/benign samples.

The FFPE tissues are optimal for generating a tumor signature or profile from studies conducted with specific gene expression arrays, IHC, and other immunofluorescent staining.
